We picked this book up for fun and for ideas of lame comic characters, in case we ever needed an idea for in MU. There are some pretty interesting superhero characters, that's for sure! I will be showcasing some from the book, and feel free to submit your own additions! They do not have to be Marvel comic characters.

The Bouncer - Fox Comics So, this is actually a character in Greek mythology: Antaeus, famed for losing to Hercules in a wrestling match. He was a giant (son of Gaea and Poseidon) and was invincible as long as he remained in contact with Mother Earth. Fast forward to modern day. Meet Adam Anteas, Jr., a sculptor and the direct descendant of Antaeus. He has inherited his ancestor's ability - and he can "bounce back" whenever he hits the ground (can Antaeus also do this? It's unclear). The harder he hits, the higher he bounces. Also like his ancestor, his loses his power when he is not connected to the ground. So... I'm not sure what happens once he bounces up in the air. Presumably, he doesn't usually hit anything at high velocity. And I'm not sure what happens when he comes back down. Wouldn't he hit the ground then and just bounce off once more, creating a vicious bouncing cycle? And if he bounces and lands somewhere that ISN'T the ground, does it hurt? Anyway...he has sculpted a statue of the Greek figure Antaeus and whenever Junior is threatened, the spirit of Antaeus animates the statue and drags Junior off on an adventure fighting crime! Junior can also summon Antaeus to his location. Costumes: Antaeus wears a purple toga and sandals and Adam Anteas, Jr. wears a paint-spattered smock and a beret. Quote: "Call me the Bouncer, because I bounced the laziness out of your soul!" Notable Villains: Glow Worm (he glows?), Mr. Lucifer (a circus clown who insists he's the devil) Fun Fact: "The Bouncer" lasted for five issues (Sept 1944 - Jan 1945). The first issue was unnumbered and the subsequent issues were numbered #11-14. (Why?) The Bouncer - Wikipedia
