*so Kitty's little friend was actually able to come through, and he managed to talk her down from that rebellions little spat...he will definitely have to keep an eye on her, but that is not a concern for the moment....he moves briskly through the building, his footfalls thudding loudly on the metallic floor...he finds Mystique exactly where he expects to find her: in the training room* Come, my dear, it is time. *she should know what that means without need of further explanation*
*Andrew, unfortunately, won't get to see the debut of his device; it's too much of a risk...so the technology nerd will remain imprisoned as the rest of the team make their way toward the studio...Alison's studio, that is....this little endeavor must be timed perfectly in order to pull it off....Magneto has sent Mystique on scouting expeditions over the last few weeks to become familiar with Alsion's habits...and they learned that she always takes a limousine from the studio to whatever celebrity-bedecked event is scheduled afterward, and that she almost always travels with no guests*
*the streets are full of normal traffic for this time of day....the car is sitting exactly where it normally is, completely un-tampered with...Magneto isn't looking for an explosion, a complete disappearance, or anything like that...no, this time he needs to be much more subtle...they are waiting a few blocks from the studio, silent, waiting for the right time*

*town car, it is more subtly posh than a limo... *G* But anyway, Alison chats with the driver (her regular) for a few moments as they pull away, then she simply leans back - her eyes closed, one hand gently massaging her temple. It had been a rough and long day and all she really wanted was to go home. She will make a quick appearance at the charity function, then bow out early and go home. Or perhaps just to her apartment; Alison is unsure is she can face all the strain and tension at the Mansion right now. Actually, what she needs is a vacation. As the summer winds down and autumn begins, she daydreams about somewhere warm. Bright, sunny, lots of cold fruity drinks. The town car eases through the city traffic while Alison daydreams about leaving everything and going to live by herself on a tropical island...*

Kitty was in the hall when Mystique found her and told her Magneto needed her to go with the group. She didn't have a viable excuse not to go. She had just taken Andrew lunch which left her free until later in the day. So, she followed the elder woman. She was already in phased state when she joined the others. Apparently Magneto either already told them the plan, or they were just as clueless when the group departed the base.
When they arrived at the destination, or what she assumes is the destination, she stands around and waits with the others. One of the guys moves to stand half inside her phased form and whispers crude things. He's been doing crap like that for several weeks, off and on. Kitty's already figured out he isn't serious about any of it, just wants to see what it would take to piss her off. Today, he's on the fast track to finding out. Just when she's about ready to phase him through a building wall and leave him, he stops and moves away. The distance he moves, doesn't lessen her mood, but only increases it. That was too short. He normally pushes things longer. Does this mean in the middle of this he'll turn on her, or was he told to do that just to get her in a fighting mood, or maybe the guy was just bored and decided to mess around? Kitty doesn't know, but if the crap hits the fan, she won't pull back if he ends up in the way between her and her target...whatever that is.

*the only one with any clue about what is coming is Mystique, and not even she has all of it; always playing it close to the vest is Magneto...he had some reservations about including Kitty in this, given her dubious loyalty, but like everything else he has his reasons*
*their destination is a small warehouse fronting the street, with an alley running along one side...this close to uptown, the alley is relatively clear of bums and other refuse, though the far end is blocked by three dumpsters...he says nothing as the fourth of their group, a muscular mutant who goes by Lionclaw, harasses Kitty...she can take care of herself, that she's proven before...without looking at the others, he speaks* Stay sharp. Our best bet is to catch her off guard. I do not want her permanently damaged. *three guesses as to who that last is for*
*New York traffic is fairly predictable, but Magneto doesn't want our starlet to wander off course...it's nothing at all for him to arrange several minor traffic accidents at strategic points near the studio, just enough to snarl traffic in such a way that her driver will be forced down the street he wants...Alison might note an increase in the amount of honking, her driver's muttered curses as he fights the crowd...it doesn't help, either, that the car directly in front of hers has come to a complete stop, a wide gap opening in front of it as traffic creeps forward....what her driver doesn't know is that the car in front of theirs is trying to move, but is unable to, held in place by a magnetic grip*

*the increased honking rouses Alison from her fantasy somewhere that is not here. She frowns and opens her eyes, sitting up straight and leaning forward to peer out through the windshield. The honking and traffic jam doesn't alarm her - this is, after all, New York City. It is known to be one of the worst places in the world to drive. *
What do you think? Car accident?
*she asks her driver, who only shrugs and blares the horn again. With a loud sigh, she falls back against the seat. If the car doesn't move in five minutes, she'll just get out and walk. She's walked from the studio to her apartment before and if she needs to, she can always catch a cab once she's past the congestion. Anything is better than sitting here and listening to the cacophany of blaring horns and shouts across the street. One hand on the door handle, she waits... and then, as the driver shouts at the motionless car in front of them, leans forward*
I'll just walk. You can take the car back to the studio and I'll see you tomorrow.

*Alison can grasp the door handle all she likes; if she were to try and open it, she would find it tightly shut, impossible to move as though it had been welded shut...as soon as a wide enough gap has opened two cars ahead of them, Magneto releases his grip on the car in front of them...Alison would be slammed back into her seat as though her driver had gunned it in his frustration...and maybe he did, but that wouldn't explain why the car veers dangerously into a narrow alley...probably because the driver is not fully in control of the vehicle anymore*
*the car grinds to a halt about halfway down the alleyway, just before a rusty metal door...it opens, discharging first Magneto, then Mystique, followed by Lionclaw and finally Kitty...he gestures vaguely, and the driver's door swings open* I want him unconscious, but alive. *no idea who he's speaking to, but Mystique doesn't move from her spot; she has her own orders for the day*

*she finds the door unable to be opened, though she is yanking on the door handle*
I think the door is lo---ARGH!
*quite the unladylike grunt of surprise there as she is thrown back in her seat, the car seeming to careen out of control. She barely has time to form a complete thought when it stops abruptly, throwing her forward so she slams into the back of the seat in front of her. Once she ascertains that she's ok - not even bruised, she looks over to the driver*
You know, taking the car was supposed to be safer than a cab.
*he starts to explain that he has no idea what just happened, but it certainly wasn't his fault when movement on Alison's side catches her attention. Her head turns in that direction to see Magneto and his crew emerging from the door. She gave Magneto and Mystique a glare as they emerged - the look deepening to one of disgust as she sees Kitty bringing up the rear. She doesn't even say anything, just tries the door handle again so she can get out and meet Magneto on her own terms. Maybe he'd just like to negotiate Andrew's return? He can keep Kitty - she'll even throw in Piotr, if Magneto can find him. *L*

At the order, Kitty glances toward Lionclaw. His look shows he thinks this is beneath him. Kitty rolls her eyes. Oh please, a brute that has standards? Fine, why bother bringing him along if its up to the women to get the job done, in this case Kitty. Well, she wanted to hit something, this is her chance. With a determined look in her face, she strides toward the car. The windows are tinted in the back in such a way; she doesn’t see who’s in the back just yet. This is probably a good thing for Magneto.
“This is going to hurt you a hell of a lot more than it will me.”
She says to the rather build looking driver as he gets out of the car. He saw who was there in the alley, what human didn’t know what Magneto looked like dressed in all his finery. They’ve seen his threats and heard him over the television enough to recognize him easily enough. His attention turn to the smallish girl (well, small to his size) that is approaching him. He starts to reply, but she takes him by surprise with a kick to the gut. Kitty’s smiling at him when he starts to straighten out. She’s purposely giving him a chance to fight back.
“Let the game begin…”
The man lunges for her, but goes right through. There’s the usual…. “What the hell…?” comment and look. Kitty whirls and unphases just long enough for her foot to contact with his rather firm bottom. This sends him stumbling forward. Got to give the man props though, he gets back in the swing of it rather quickly as the turns to face her once more, throwing a punch that should have connected and possibly breaking her jaw in the process, but instead just passes through her face.
“Missed me….my turn.”
She drops and sweeps a leg. It unphases just long enough to connect and knock his feet out in an attempt to knock his legs out from under him, but he apparently expected that. Oooo, he’s going to be fun. He doesn’t move fast enough, so she did take clip one leg, this sends him to his knee. Fine by her, he’s now more on her level. Nimble as the codename she uses, Shadowcat is on her feet once more, a good solid kick aimed at the man’s face, her body unphasing long enough to connect, It snaps the man’s head to the side, but doesn’t knock him out. It did however pack enough of a punch that the man seems stunned, unable to respond for a moment. That’s all she needed. A reversed kick with the other leg and her foot connects when it unphases once more and the man goes down like a large, ancient oak tree in the forest…timber! Kitty looks up from the unconscious driver to Lionclaw. The meaning in that look is perfectly clear… ‘you’re next’.

*he stands still, arms crossed, waiting patiently for either Lionclaw or Kitty to deal with the driver...he's got a very specific reason he wants the man knocked out for this...as Kitty steps forward, there's the slightest nod of approval; Lionclaw had been told to give Kitty every opportunity to act before he was to do it - the more blood (so to speak) on her hands, the larger a wedge between her and her former team....it's all part of his plan to make sure that the X-men would not take her back - and by his thinking, if she won't be had by them, the only alternative is to stay with him...twisted logic? perhaps, but that's how he operates*
Very good, my dear, very good indeed. *not that taking out a normal human should have been much of a challenge for her, thus hardly warranting praise...but of course that's not precisely why he's praising her, is it?....Alsion's door would finally pop open, but Magneto doesn't seem alarmed at the potential for her to attack them....he chose this alley not only for its location, but also for it's narrow width; there's barely enough room for the doors to swing open* Alison....I do trust you'll be careful....it wouldn't do for a ricochet to hit your little friend there... *his gaze dips slightly to her driver's fallen form*

*Alison glared at Kitty - she would have fired at her, had Kitty not been phased. That's it, she's going to get Andrew to make her a handheld nullifier device that she can carry around with her -- well, as soon as she gets Andrew back. Which could hopefully be soon, not that Kitty, Mystique, and Magneto have popped up out of the woodwork. Despite his warning, Alison doesn't relax her stance or lower her hands - but she doesn't attack, yet*
What do you want?
*And if you are trying to return Kitty, you can keep her. *G*

Kitty looks from Alison to Magneto. Her eyes narrow and center on Mystique. Surely he expected her to figure it out. She knows what Andrew’s device does and she knows how accurate Mystique can take Alison’s form since she’s sparred with her in that very form not too long ago. She curses, then glares at Alison before she turns back to Magneto.
“No.”
Alison may not know what Kitty’s talking about, but Magneto sure as heck will. Kitty feels it’s her duty to watch over Andrew, not her.
“No way in hell. You want her, she’s your problem.”
She turns to start walking toward the end of the alley. If she has to walk through the car, Alison, heck even if that means walking through you, that’s where she heads. You wanted to know how far her loyalties lie? This appears to be it. Taking in and caring for one of the two people on this blasted earth she can't stand the sight of.

*there's a reason he abstained from telling Kitty the full details of his plan - he fully expected her to balk once she realized what he was going to do, and what it could mean for her...he considers it fortunate that Kitty didn't immediately round on Alison and attack her - the whole point to this is secrecy, and he does not want to make a scene....at Kitty's words, his lips split into a grin, but his first words are directed at Alison*
Well my dear, it appears that the cat may be out of the bag, so to speak. I want you. *and from his tone, you can guess he doesn't mean that in a sexual manner...he holds a hand out to Alison, as though she'd just come along with them peacefully* I can take you to your friend..Andrew, I believe he's called? Kitty has been taking such good care of him. *his tone drops there, and it's hard to say whether he's being sarcastic or earnest...Kitty of course would know the truth of it*
*he doesn't take his eyes off of Alison but when he speaks next, he's obviously talking to Kitty* Don't tell me this comes as a complete surprise to you....I was told you're one of the smarter ones....surely you knew what was coming. *though he hasn't yet tried to tell Kitty what she will or will not be expected to do....he's waiting to see her reaction...for her part, Mystique watches the byplay with an openly amused look on her face...she knew more of what the plan was than Kitty, and it tickles her to no end to see Kitty get all indignant like that*

*she ignores Kitty, besides an ugly look in her direction before looking back at Magneto and Mystique*
Can't you call and ask for a date like a normal person? *of course, she knows that is definitely not what Magneto meant, but Alison always has a sarcastic remark ready for him whenever he pops up. Alison looks over at the unconscious form of her driver, frowning, then back to Magneto. She actually takes a step in his direction - obviously the lure of finally getting to Andrew is strong. She waits while Magneto addresses Kitty, thinking fast. Of course, she knows that this is against anything she's ever preached to any other X-Men - she's not part of a team here; she's alone and should not even be contemplating following Magneto. *
You'll take me to Andrew? He's ok? *her concern is noticeable, though as Kitty moves away from her driver, Alison speaks up again*
Let him go though. He's got nothing in this. *she feels sure that if Magneto just took her to Andrew, she can get him free. She's not afraid of Magneto, just wary, and she's almost positive that - despite the one incident when he let her fall to what could have been her death - he wouldn't kill her. Of course, she MIGHT come peacefully... but that's only because she doesn't know exactly what Magneto's plan is. Once she figures out that he means for Mystique to take her place, all thoughts of going along peacefully to get to Andrew will be gone and it'll be on...like Donkey Kong* *G*

Kitty turns around at the exchange between Magneto and Alison. There’s fury on her face.
“No! Absolutely NOT!”
She gets between Alison and Magneto even though they could both walk through her in her phased state.
“You promised he’ll be safe. You’ve kept that promise thus far, but you put that…that…” she points behind her toward Alison. “…selfish, manipulative, witch in there with him, she’ll twist and turn him and get him to create something to get her out. She’ll do anything to make sure she gets exactly what she wants from whomever it is around her and be damned who gets hurt in the process. Where he’s at now, he’s safe from any crossfire, but you put her in there, he’s going to end up right in the middle and I’ll be damned if I’m going to watch her destroy him again. I promise you, Eric, she goes in, you’re breaking our deal and I’ll take him away. As far away as I can get him from you or her.”
Now as far as the typist knows, this dimension’s Alison hasn’t gotten anyone killed. But then, this Kitty’s memories are starting to merge and she’s can’t seem to remember some days which belong to her and which belong to the one who’s place she’s taken.

*when he addresses Alison, his tone is light, almost grandfatherly* Yes, my dear, your Andrew is just fine. *he figured the lure of Alison seeing her teammate would be strong - perhaps all he needed to resolve this without spilling precious mutant blood....but then Kitty had to step in and run her mouth...he'd cause to doubt her loyalty before, but never her sanity...but at her angry words a dark shadow flashes across his face briefly, like a ripple on a still lake you aren't quite sure you saw...when he speaks again, his voice has a glacial chill, as opposed to Kitty's molten passion* Take caution in your tone, Kitty - you forget yourself. If you think I have not thought to prepare things to foil an escape attempt, then you have grossly underestimated me. *pause* Most do that at their peril.
*he glances to Alison for a moment....Kitty's description of you seems to run quite counter to what he knows of you - irritating, high-minded, naive yes...but never manipulative or cruel...he doesn't know what kind of bad blood there is between you and he's not interested in finding out, especially not at this delicate juncture....when he speaks again, he addresses Kitty still, but his gaze remains fixed on Alison* She knows that her good behavior will ensure young Andrew's health and well-being, and disobedience will be punished. *and speaking of disobedience, he turns his gaze back to Kitty, his tone growing graver still* And if you stand in the way of my plans, then YOU are breaking our deal, and I've no more use for you - or your young friend.

*Alison looks at Kitty, shock evident on her face. She's been saying all along that Kitty is some crazed psychopath, but honestly - she just thought the girl was eaten up with a wild jealousy that she didn't know how to control. But this... this was definitely the ravings of a lunatic. Alison looked through Kitty's phased form to Magneto, confusion obvious on her face. Magneto knows Alison fairly well, does he not? They've been thrown together time and time again in various situations. Does she really seem like the kind of person that Kitty is describing? No... that seems like a different Alison entirely. Perhaps she's thinking of Brotherhood Alison - the one that was Alternate Magneto's right-hand man? Anyway, Kitty should really shut up before she gets Andrew killed... and focus all that hot rage on Mystique instead. After all, if this plays out like Magneto wants, then Mystique will be the one sleeping with Piotr tonight. Not that they will be sleeping... but you get the point.*
No, wait! *At Magneto's threat, Alison speaks up again, taking a step back so she can shut the car door and give herself a bit of room in the close alley*
It's ok, I'll come with you. There's no need to hurt them. *Yes, them. Even though Kitty is a raging psychopath, she's still an X-Man (sort of), and no matter how much bad blood there is between them, Alison wouldn't just stand here and let Magneto hurt her. She's been saying all along that Kitty wasn't in her right mind and needed help... now with three X-Men in Magneto's clutches, maybe the rest of them will step it up and come rescue all three. Then Kitty can get the help she so obviously needs. She glances over at her driver, still unconscious on the ground. When he comes to and realizes she's been "kidnapped," it'll make headlines. Everyone, not just X-Men, will be looking for her. Of course, Alison STILL doesn't realize that you mean for Mystique to take her place just so the X-Men never know Alison is missing and that exact scenario comes to pass.*

So Magneto gets his wish, the witch agrees to come. The implications of his last comment don’t fall on deaf ears. As for herself, she doesn’t care, but where Andrew is concerned, that is a different matter. Kitty’s anger, reaches a boiling point, and what little hold she has on sanity snaps. She turns. Her eyes lock on the first persons she sees. It isn’t Mystique, it isn’t Alison, and it isn’t Eric. Her poor target is Lionclaw and he hadn’t been expecting it. With everyone else behind her, he is privy to the change in her facial features to resemble something feral (No morphing, just natural changes in looks from sane to completely insane). He casts an uncertain glance at Magneto, not sure how he should respond, and she attacks. If Magneto says something to intervene, she doesn’t hear him, couldn’t hear him. In her mind she isn’t in an alley anymore, she’s back there and it was a fight to the death. As she strikes, she yells at Lionclaw in a language none in the alley have been privy too. Her strikes are quick, precise, and aimed at inflicting as much pain and humility as possible. All her moves are moves the Kitty you’re familiar with is capable of making, but never chooses to use in this manner. She unphases at impact and phases back just as quickly when she was no longer touching flesh. Each contact, she utters more foreign words. In less than a minute, she has Lionclaw on the ground and is poised for a killing strike, but stops. Whatever is going on around her, she ignores in her phased state. Her head turns to look to the left and up. Her hand lowers and she walks through Lionclaw who had blood flowing down his face from his nose and the nasty slashes along his cheek. He has cracked ribs, a dislocated shoulder, and is doubling over to coddle his boys with his one good hand/arm. Kitty is muttering in that same language as she phases through a building, heading in the direction of Magneto’s lair.

*Alison may yet be proved right, that Kitty is not in her right mind....he meets Alison's gaze and she can see the look of disbelief in his eyes; he doesn't believe the claims Kitty is laying forth, so for whatever it's worth, Magneto doesn't think that poorly of her...when she agrees to come along peaceably, his lips tighten into something that might be construed as a smile* Very good, my dear...so good to see some of us are still capable of rational decisions.... *yes, it's a not-so-subtle jab at Kitty - he may need her cooperation still, but that doesn't mean he needs to be nice....he IS the bad guy here, after all*
*he takes a step toward Alison to shuffle her off, and then Kitty goes completely off the reservation....he doesn't react at first because he's utterly gobsmacked he can't believe what he's seeing* KITTY! *he takes a step forward - but only one, and stops....it's not fear exactly, but he knows there's precious little he can do to help Lionclaw at this point, who's striking at his attacker ineffectually...there's little his superior strength and speed can do when there isn't a target he can hit....he falls to the ground like a bag of sand under her merciless strikes.....Magneto's face hardens as he watches Kitty pull back at the last moment....he doesn't try to stop her, but he does catch note of which direction she's heading.....he turns back to Alison* Come my dear, if you wish to see your friend Andrew, we should make haste....I shudder to think what she'd do if she reaches him first. *true, Kitty expressed nothing but concern at Andrew's well-being, but she's also plainly crazy - and it wouldn't help to instill a sense of urgency in Alsion.....he nods to Mystique* You know what to do... *Mystique, who'd been watching all of this silently, strides forward, moving first to the driver's side of the car, arranging the driver a bit so he's better positioned in the seat....Magneto moves to stand beside Lionclaw, waiting for the mutant to make it to his feet, though he moves gingerly....he looks back to Alsion* Come, my dear. *best for her to get as far away from Mystique as possible before they reveal the true plan*

*Alison isn't a cursing person, but all she can think is "SHIT!" when she sees the way Kitty takes down Lionclaw. That's just more evidence that she's gone off the deep end. Of course, it works out well for Magneto, because at his intimation that Andrew may be in danger, Alison promptly forgets about her driver and falls in behind Magneto - glancing in the direction that Kitty has gone, hoping Magneto didn't walk here. She barely even realizes that Mystique has been left behind...which should suit Magneto just fine. As Lionclaw limps along, Alison balks at the pace, even for those few steps*
We could take the car. We need to get ahead of her. If she's going back to Andrew, we can set up something to take her out until we figure out what the hell is going on with her.
*She may have started off believing that Kitty was just acting out because of her and Piotr, but she doesn't think that anymore. Not after she saw Kitty using those fighting moves, heard that language she was speaking. It definitely wasn't English... and even though Alison doesn't speak Russian, she's heard enough of it to know it wasn't that either. No, something seriously freaky has happened to Kitty.*
((And I am ok with leaving it like this - unless you wanna chime in with anything additional - and then pick it up from them arriving at Magneto's Lair or even Alison just chilling with Andrew in captivity the next time you're online and in the room!))
