*well, finally, after the epiphany Kitty helped give him with the power source, it seems things are done, or as done as they can be without a proper test....in truth, he finished the last bit of "work" hours ago, but has spent the intervening time checking everything, all the intricate wiring, the connections, everything.....in spite of the situation, there's something deep down that refuses to let him turn out an inferior product.....but there's a point when he cannot check anything else...it sure seems done, to the best of everything he can ascertain*
*we'll say that Kitty happens to be in the cell at this time - either she's checking on him, or catching some rest, or even just reading and staying clear of Mystique....he knows she's nearby, which is both a good thing and a bad thing.....he picks up the two small devices and pads to the doorway separating the working area from the living area.....he doesn't go any farther than the doorway, however* Kitty. *his words are mumbled, almost inaudible...he doesn't look at her directly when he speaks* They're ready.

Kitty is lounging on the couch reading a book. At his mumbled words, Kitty looks up. Her gaze, at first, settles on his face. She takes in his stance and inability to look at her. She’s hit with a wave of sadness which is quickly drowned in guilt. None of this shows however. Even if it had, Andrew never looks at her anyway. She tells herself, as always, this is for the best. Let him fear her, one day it may prevent what she knows could happen. She closes the book.
“Alright, Andrew.”
She puts it aside and closes the distance between them until she’s just outside of reach. It’s the closest she’ll dare go. She’s concerned he might faint if she got any close. She holds out her hands and waits for him to give her what she’ll need.
“Tell me again how this works and how to put it on.”
She listens to his instructions and will follow them to the letter. Her life may well depend on it, as well as his if she wanted to be around to get him out of here.

*he fidgets in place as you approach, though he doesn't shrink back from you....he places the two small devices in your waiting hands: they've undergone some more radical changes since the last you saw....gone are the thin metal bands; instead, the tiny ovoids are slightly shiny on one side, slightly dull on the other....the dull side seems slightly sticky, though it's not an adhesive exactly, something special he cooked up that is sweat-proof and secure enough to stay put*
They go on your wrists....just here... *he presses the first two fingers of his right hand over the pule of his left wrist...they're not perfect circles, and he indicates you put them on with the wider part going across the wrist* It....reads off the movements in your tendons.... To turn it on, you do this. *holding out his hand, fingers splayed, he makes two brief gestures, flexing just the tips of his fingers....if you do likewise, you'd feel the very slightest vibration against your skin, but no heat* A...after that you just....gesture. *as if to illustrate he makes a vague pointing motion toward a wall*

She does exactly as you instruct and turns the device on, but she doesn’t gesture just yet. Magneto wanted this thing to mimic other mutant’s powers.
“How does it mimic another mutant’s powers? Do you just ‘tell’ it which one you want, or does it have to be near that mutant at the time its activated? Or just at some point while it’s active?”
This is something she’d need to know before the tried that gesture. With all the mutants in the brotherhood, no telling which one she’d get if there’s a range on this. Testing wildly like that in this enclosed space would be close to suicide and she’s just not that crazy…yet.
((See you sometime Monday hopefully))

*he gives a small shake of his head; it's slight, so you'd have to be looking directly at him to notice...he doesn't like telling you no, or that you're mistaken about something...that's the only gesture he makes for a second - his mouth opens, but nothing comes out for a handful of seconds* It....no....it's got to be programmed by....well, manually. It...it is set to copy Alison's powers. *he falls silent for a moment* That's....what you wanted right? *if he's screwed up, you'll be angry at him, and he doesn't like that....when Magento posed the idea to you, he'd used Alison as an example, which no doubt is what you did also...Andrew took it literally*

She doesn’t answer for a few moments, just stares down at the device attached to her arm. So this is happening, she’s giving Magneto exactly what she wants via someone who’s never done her harm. She thought she’d feel a bit guilty about that, but instead, she feels nothing. The only guilt she feels is in association to you being in harms way. Maybe this should worry her, but it doesn’t. She motions to you to step outside the room.
“Step back outside, Andrew. I’ve never had an active power like this, so its better to be safe than sorry.”
She thinks for a moment, and then changes her mind.
“Actually, maybe it would be best to either stand behind me or far into the next room.”
She’ll wait until you pick a safer spot, then she’ll point at the opposite wall from where she’s standing. At the same time, she closes her eyes and turns her head away from the impact point. A beam of light shoots out and blasts the wall. Kitty peeks out one eyes to survey the damage.
“Andrew…you still there?”
Here’s hoping she didn’t screw up and the thing had ricocheted.

*if you're looking carefully, you might notice that the small devices slowly change color the longer they remain attached to your skin, blending perfectly with your flesh in less than a minute...that's another testament to Andrew's commitment to detail, even under a situation as dire as this*
*you don't need to tell him twice to hide from you...he scampers as far away from you as he can get, crouching in a corner and covering his ears with his hands....as you point and fire, the aim is not as precise as Alison can pull off naturally; obviously there would be a learning curve involved in exactly mimicking the ease with which she can wield his power...but on the whole, you pull off a good facsimile of an Alison Blaire laser blast*
*there's no response from him for a longer period than necessary, so much so that you might become concerned that somehow he suffered damage...but eventually he'd peek his head around the doorway, flicking from you to the pocked hole in the wall, and back to you* It...it worked. *he doesn't sound surprised exactly - for all his lack of self-confidence, he knows his device would work - but there's something in his voice...pride perhaps? or hope?*

Kitty is staring at the hole in the wall with awe when you finally poke you’re head around. At your voice, she pulls her gaze away to look at you, then back at the hole and starts toward it.
“I’ll say it worked. How much power did you pack in this thing?”
Was that the equivalent of the power Alison could use? Could this device actually punch a hole in the wall? She pokes her finger inside and frowns. Did Magneto hear or feel the impact of the blast? Would he know they’ve finished. All this tumbles through her mind within a moment of her question. A question she doesn’t give you a chance to answer just yet. She spins around on you.
“Andrew, if you have any notes or data laying about, destroy it now. Leave nothing anyone can use to recreate this. We probably have very little time.”

*your initial question may have been borne out of incredulity, but Andrew takes it for a serious query, tilting his head to one side as he mentally retraces the steps he took in calibrating it* I, well...I had to guess at some of the variables...b-based on my observations, you know....but I think it's-- *his stammering explanation is cut off as you whirl on him - he jerks back as though you're about to hit him, blinking at the abrupt change in tone* N-notes? Data....what do you mean? *he scurries back to the working area of the cell, grabbing a small device that's a combination tablet and notebook computer* It's all in here.....I...I could redo the numbers for you.... *clearly he's missing the point*

Her eyes fall on the tablet/notebook computer you have in your possession.
"All of it is on here? You're sure? May I have it?"
She holds out her hand for it. Kitty is already trying to decide what's best, should she phase a finger through it or shoot it with the device. Why not both? With the data destroyed, she'll only have the device she's wearing to insure she gets you out safe. It will be her only bargaining chip so to speak.

*he bobs his head once to your first question* Y...yes, it is. *of course he could be lying, but do you think he really has the capacity to do so, especially given the current state of things? when you ask for the tablet, there is only the briefest of hesitations before he holds it out to you...he's always been very tractable, even before you became his jailer*
*assuming you take the device from his hands, he takes a single shuffling step back, the movement seeming almost instinctive...a fearful look flashes across his face* Is there something wrong with it? *the words come out in a squeak....if it's not working the way you need, you're going to be angry with him*

She stares down at it, then looks up at your squeaked question. She corners of her mouth tip upward in a slight smile.
"No, Andrew. It's working perfectly, just like any other thing you create."
And with that, she phases a finger through the device. What data is there, is not non retrievable using this device. She looks up at you.
"Get whatever stuff you want, Andrew. You're going home...right now."
She tosses the device against the same wall she blasted earlier. This time she takes time to actually aim and fires off one of the light blasts directly at it. She gives it a second one, just for good measure.
"You have five minutes before we leave."
She isn't sure they even have that much time, but she'll give you a few moments to let that process. No need scaring you out of your mind anymore than she has to. Plus that gives her just enough time to get her communicator that she had turned off and stashed. Since they took you by surprise, you had left yours. Now you can use her to get back to where you belong.
