Greetings True Believers! Tonight, the X-Men will embark on their journey to Limbo, in an attempt to hopefully rescue Illyana from Belasco's evil clutches. Wish them luck! This will probably take two weekends if everything goes according to plan. Don't have an X-Man to go with them? Never fear - we have 3 opportunities for you to participate in the roleplay. 1. Once there, the X-Men will run into some OTHER X-Men from another reality who have been trapped in Limbo for years. These X-Men have formed a resistance to fight Belasco's total dominion over Limbo. You can pick up any X-Man you want for the duration of this roleplay (unless someone claimed them already for Limbo). 2. Some of the OTHER X-Men who were trapped in Limbo have been corrupted by Belasco over the years and now serve him. The "good" X-Men will probably have to fight them at some point. Again, feel free to request to play someone if you'd like. 3. Limbo is populated by all sorts of demons that serve Belasco (or not even!). We will need lots of demons to fight on our journey to rescue Illyana tho! Questions? Feel free to ask! Edited to add: You can technically play any char as an alternate version! It doesn't necessarily have to be a X-char.

Transcript: marvelutopia.proboards.com/thread/4979/limbo-roleplayLast night, the X-Men (Havok, Siryn, Colossus, Shadowcat, Nightcrawler) were transported to Limbo with the help of a device Forge created and an amulet Illyana had left behind during a brief re-appearance from Limbo. However, upon arrival, the first they were greeted with an Other-Colossus, crucified against the cavern wall, his metal chest caved in - he's been dead for some time. The walls of the tunnel started to collapse as Siryn used her sonic scream and the team was met with an army of hundreds and hundreds of demons and the Limbo King Belasco. It was a trap! There was no way the X-Men would be able to survive this. But just when it seemed all was lost, a flying ship appeared through a portal and a small group of OTHER X-Men (from a different dimension) rescued them. Other-Dazzler held off the demon army while the baby X-Men boarded the ship. Then they all escaped through another magical portal, ending up in a different part of Limbo far away from Belasco and his army. And Illyana. Will they ever manage to save her? Or are they trapped here in Limbo now, like the OTHER X-Men were?

Transcript: marvelutopia.proboards.com/post/32973/threadAnother day, another battle in Limbo. After the daring rescue of the new baby X-Men, Dazzler and her team took them back to the base they had built up over the years. Little did they know, THE MOTH (Limbo Nightcrawler) had found them and reported back to Lord Belasco. The location of their safehouse, their safety was now compromised. Belasco acted quickly, sending in a powerful team to finally kill the eXiles and bring the new arrivals - fresh blood - back to him. Through a magical teleportation disk, Evil Havok arrived with his team: Storm, Amanda Sefton, a mutated Strong Guy and Wild Child. Intense fighting ensued, X-Men and eXiles teaming up to coordinate their abilities to best their foes. During the fray, Evil Havok spotted Siryn, looking so much like a ghost from his past. Battering his way past Dazzler, he swooped down and scooped up Siryn then took off with her, his mission temporarily forgotten. But he had a parting gift for the eXiles: another teleportation portal opened up and a grossly mutated Blob fell through, straight down toward their base. Dazzler called for retreat and Pixie used her magic to transport the teams and the base to a new location, and safety. But it was not without cost: they had to leave Siryn behind. When Alex 616 realized this, he was ready to go running off to get her back, but Dazzler stopped him. She told the story of their first Limbo casualty (their Theresa Cassidy) and how her death had broken their Alex's mind and spirit. One night, he disappeared and when they found him, he had already been broken by Belasco, turned into the creature they had met that day. Her story calmed Alex enough to make him realize that if they were to get his Theresa back, they would need a plan. His anger would fuel him, but Dazzler's insistence that Evil Alex would never kill Theresa - any Theresa - would give him hope and keep his personal demons at bay so that he could save Theresa and not be lost in the process. History would not repeat itself this time.

Script: marvelutopia.proboards.com/post/32975With time running out, Limbo eXile Dazzler decided they needed to visit the Oracle to see what insight she might bestow. Also called Destiny, the young X-Men were surprised to learn that this Oracle was in fact Charles Xavier's twin sister in whatever reality she hailed from. Possessing vast psionic powers, she had managed to carve out a part of Limbo as her own. She had good news and bad news for them: she has seen various different outcomes. In some they save Illyana and in some they don't. But in one version -- just one -- they would be able to actually defeat Belasco and end not only his reign of terror over Limbo, but also forever thwart him from invading the multiverse to infect it with his evil. But the X-Men have to choose which prophecy to hear - one that was sure to save Illyana, or the one that would defeat Belasco (and possibly lose Illyana in the process)? They opted for the ultimate defeat of Belasco. Destiny then spoke their prophecy: Like the way this one (Kurt) fights while wielding three swords, three objects you must obtain to defeat the Limbo Lord. -A magic link to the crimson ether lies across the dead lands. Obtain the gems that will protect you from the demon army's hands. -To be victorious in your gambit, you need one more to join your team. But he is trapped within a dungeon, free him for your scheme. -In the perilous depths of Limbo hides a worldy key lost long ago. Take it up and use it well to defeat the Lord Belasco.Sidequests! Will the intrepid heroes decipher the prophecy and defeat Belasco? Will they be able to rescue Theresa and Illyana? Or are they all doomed to remain in Limbo forever? Stay tuned! *If you are interested in helping us with these quests, please let me know!

Transcript: marvelutopia.proboards.com/post/32973/threadLongshot, Kitty, and Kurt infiltrated Belasco's dungeons with hundreds of prisoners to seek the one referenced in Destiny's prophecy: The Gambit. During their excursion, Kurt and Kitty got sidetracked to rescue a poor little creature the demon guards were torturing just to hear it squeal. The creature, a small purplish scaly dragon-esque animal was very grateful, immediatly proving his worth when The Moth (Demon-Nightcrawler) tried to attack. With a fiery roar, he chased Evil-Kurt away, saving Kitty and Kurt. When they met up with Longshot again, the ever-lucky eXile had captured a demon could lead them to Gambit. Once there, Gambit proved that not even a dungeon full of demons could really keep him and set about leading the others in a sneaky escape back to the eXile base. One part of Destiny's prophecy completed, the daring heroes won't stop until they fulfill the other two and defeat Belasco for good!

Transcript: marvelutopia.proboards.com/post/32992/threadOne sidequest down and Wasteland Gambit recovered, the Limbo eXiles and X-Men 616 ventured out to fulfill the second sidequest - gems that will protect them from Belasco and his army. After finding the portal into the Crimson Cosmos, the merry band found their way to a small outpost and into an inevitable brawl between the newcomers and locals. However, they did manage to find a guide (and two others) who would lead them to what they sought. After a trek across the red wastelands, they found the location of the gems Destiny alluded to her in her prophecy. But as soon as they tried to get to one, the giant stone pillars that surrounded the valley turned into giant stone juggernauts and fought to protect the gems. To add another twist, their guides turned against them. Could these intrepid heroes defeat both giant stone monsters AND alien foes? Before they could find out, Cytorrak himself appeared in the sky and encased all the intruders to his domain in scarlet crystal statis. Who will save them now? Stay tuned!

Transcript: marvelutopia.proboards.com/post/32996/threadAlerted to a disturbance emanating throughout the dimensions from both the Crimson Cosmos and Limbo, Dr. Stephen Strange (Sorceror Supreme) arrived to plead with Cytorrak to release his prisoners. Naturally, Cytorrak refused - but Dr. Strange employed his magic to release the eXiles/X-Men from their statis. Once freed from the crystal prisons, they headed for the catacombs beneath the Cytorrak's temple. FIghting their way through crystal spider creatures and juggernaut sentinels, they found the inner tomb of Crimson Gems. After activating the gems, they gathered as many as they could carry and made their escape. To help get past the unstoppable guardians, the team used gems on themselves to augment their own strengths and powers, ably fighting their way back to the surface. At their arrival, Dr Strange teleported them back to their Limbo base. The time has come for them to march against Belasco if they are to have any hope of rescuing Illyana and saving the multiverse from Belasco's demon army.

Transcript: marvelutopia.proboards.com/post/32998/threadAll the pieces have finally come together and it is an epic battle to save Illyana... and the omniverse! Super-powered by the crimson gems of Cytorrak, the intrepid heroes race for Belasco's Citadel as time runs short. While they fight they way through a demon army to get to Belasco, things were happening in his Throne Room. Illyana's lifeforce nearly drained, the soul spell moments away from being complete. But all was not well - Evil Havok had been struggling for days, torn between his evil demon side and his original good side and finally the remaining good in Havok won over. He raced to free Theresa as Belasco rained dark demon energy on them - blasting them through the wall, where they met with some of Belasco's demons. A brief scuttle resulting in Havok getting pierced in the side with a demon's spear. He fell back with Theresa just as the others appeared. Alex 616 saw the demons and Evil Havok with Theresa and rushed in to save her, prepared to kill Evil Havok. But Theresa stopped him at the last minute, not wanting him to corrupt himself with a murder. Dazzler tried to help her former teammate and friend, but it was too late for them. Was it too late for Illyana? They arrived at the throne in barely the nick of time - the power of their crimson gems protecting them from the dark soul corruption spells that Belasco cast. Gambit rushed to save a deathly pale and unmoving Illyana and the moment she was free from her bonds, the entire troupe was transported out of Limbo and back to Earth. Outside of Limbo, Belasco's powers were diminished and while he mocked the X-Men, Illyana rose from her near-death experience and cleanly decapitated him without much ado using the Soulsword. Belasco dead, friend rescued, brother and sister reunited - a happy ending! Only... Illyana informed the others she must needs return to Limbo. Belasco's death left a power vacuum for anyone to fill, even by someone who could be worse than Belasco. She was part Illyana / part Darkchilde now and it fell upon her to return to Limbo and put things to right. The Limbo X-Men decided to return with her, it was more their home now than Earth. The End! Post credits scene: Somewhere unknown, Selene - The Black Queen - and a man known simply as The Antagonist watch as Belasco meets his untimely death. Selene is angered by the turn of events, but The Antagonist assures her that the Elder Gods are still within their reach... and the heroes will never see them coming. /fin
