History:
Fred Myers was born in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia and was raised in the United States. As a young boy he developed a love for baseball, and spent years training and perfecting his pitching arm. By the time he was a young adult, Fred had realized his dream of pitching for a major league team. However, he foolishly began accepting bribes, and when this was discovered he was drummed out of the major leagues. Now aimless, Myers was shortly thereafter contacted by the Secret Empire. They designed special weaponry for him to exploit his pitching ability and he became their special operative, code-named Boomerang.
When the Secret Empire crumbled, Boomerang went to Australia to hide out and recuperate. There he incessantly practiced the art of throwing and decided to become a freelance assassin. Obtaining a new arsenal of weapons designed and financed by underworld financier Justin Hammer, Boomerang returned to America to pursue his criminal ambitions. He found further employment under many crime bosses such as the Kingpin and Silver Samurai, battling heroes such as Spider-Man, Shang Chi and SHIELD. Myers has been mostly active as a freelance agent or as a member of groups such as the Sinister Syndicate, Masters of Evil and the Sinister Twelve.
